Don't guess how close your customers are to the network...know!

spatialWEB® places network intelligence on the desktop of every member of your enterprise — from marketing and network operations specialists to engineers and field technicians — using standard Web browsers such as Internet Explorer. Most people can use its features with little or no training.

Address Management

A key business component of every telecommunications company is the ability to quickly find and research address information. spatialWEB has a sophisticated address management feature that answers common questions such as:

  • Is this address serviceable?
  • How is the address connected to the network?
  • Why is this address having service problems?
  • Is there a common network component affecting multiple addresses?

Serviceability

spatialWEB includes a simple-to-use Serviceability Tool that immediately answers the question, "Can I provide service to this address?" This tool helps your customer service team answer serviceability questions on the phone while customers are on hold. Animated maps and graphical overlays show any issues with the proposed installation.

The system also easily finds addresses, such as commercial units, that aren't in the billing system. spatialWEB searches road and parcel networks to find the location. For bulk processing of serviceability data, the Proximity-to-Plant tool analyzes the serviceability of entire regions in your network footprint. Results display on the network maps to help plan in-person sales calls by finding high concentrations of serviceable business customers, while also identifying potentially profitable new plant extensions by finding high concentrations of businesses just outside the range.

Network Maps

The mapping engine displays seamless maps and data analysis overlays in seconds, providing fast access to the data stored in your Oracle spatial database. It's easy to customize views for different groups in your enterprise and to maintain your existing mapping standards. Basically, different areas of your organization are able to create thematic maps. e.g., Sales & Marketing might be interested in services at addresses, but they don't want to see the entire RF plant. They also might want a white or cream background rather than the standard black engineering background. Network engineers might want to see plant or fiber from a high "elevation", e.g., without having to scroll in to the neighborhood. Fiber engineers can turn on just fiber or RF engineers can turn on just RF. In summary, it is able to create the perfect report — whatever you and your organization need!

spatialWEB supports aerial and satellite photos and provides the status of active plant items to the map in real time. The system provides links to Google Maps™ for all objects in the database.

Searching

The MetaSearch Tool searches your entire spatial database to quickly find items such as: addresses, boundary names, node names etc.

Fiber Viewing, Tracing and Reporting

SPATIALinfo® has provided fiber optic network design software to the telecommunications industry for years and the strength of the spatialNET® product is available over the Web. Fiber splicers, field technicians, network planners, and inside plant managers all find tools to help them manage and maintain their network. Core fiber features include:

  • Detailed views of physical fiber cable routing
  • End-to-end fiber tracing from node to patch panel
  • Detailed fiber usage and ownership information, from cables to individual fibers
  • Detailed, easy-to-read fiber splice reports
  • Inside plant connection tracing

Coaxial Cable Viewing, Tracing and Reporting

The product's tools analyze your coaxial network data, whether details are drafted in spatialNET or in another third-party coaxial drafting package. spatialWEB puts coaxial network topology in the hands of all users by providing connectivity from the node, through all active and passive devices, down to the taps, addresses, and individual modems inside each customer's house.

Viewing and tracing your coaxial network over a standard Web browser allows advanced functionality:

  • Trace upstream and downstream in your coaxial network
  • Find all affected addresses and customers fed from any piece of plant anywhere in the network
  • Identify potential node splits by finding network elements with large numbers of heavy data users
  • Monitor network health by using a history of network statistics

Redlining and Markup

It's easy and convenient to mark up maps with text, symbols, regions and notes. You can even mark up fiber splice cases from the field.
