Copper Design and Management Added to SPATIALnet

(Englewood, Colorado - September 21, 2005) — SPATIALinfo, a specialist supplier of network management solutions and data integration for telephone and broadband companies, today announced the latest release of its SPATIALnet Network Management System with full support for traditional copper telephone wireline services from POTS to DSL and beyond. The fully integrated solution incorporates both design and management of inside and outside plant networks in a single system, integrated with CAD and GIS in an open relational database.

This newest release includes the ability to design, document and manage copper networks. The functionality supports automated pair complement engineering, CPR reports, DSL loop qualification, loop make-up and work order management. In addition, the copper functionality is integrated with SPATIALnet's existing Fiber Management System (including FTTP, FTTH), Outside and Inside Plant, and automated mapping modules.

It includes tools for automating address and customer management, pair assignment, splicing and capacity management, along with the ability to link any record in the database to other information held in the organization. Also included are functions for documenting conduit usage and capacity, pole attachments, and many other aspects of the structural support network. A unique feature of the system is SPATIALinfo's Job Management System which provides the ability to engineer designs directly into the same database used for management and operations, without overwriting as-built records until construction of the actual network is complete. This both eliminates the double-handling of data between engineering and operations, and ensures that operations users always have access to accurate and current data about the network.
