SPATIALinfo Announces SPATIALnet/Broadband
(Englewood, Colorado - June 4, 2004) — SPATIALinfo, a specialist supplier of network management solutions and data integration for cable and broadband companies, today announced the next generation of an integrated fiber design and management product, that integrates outside plant and inside plant networks on an open GIS platform that utilizes Oracle Spatial 10g.
This new release provides the ability to model and manage the logical network as well as the physical network. This includes circuit and wavelength management, the ability to associate logical circuits to physical fibers and equipment in both Outside Plant and Inside Plant environments. This feature set will accommodate simple wavelength management, to complex nested protocol hierarchies and is the most comprehensive solution available to the broadband industry. This product runs on an open access data platform that includes a robust GIS mapping application, integrated views of HFC plant, fiber networks, inside plant, landbase and addressing.
The SPATIALnet product suite includes a full line of design, construction, QA, as-built and engineering software tools. Additionally SPATIALinfo has the ability to cost effectively convert a variety of CAD, GIS, Access and Excel Engineering data sets into the SPATIALnet software. SPATIALinfo's solutions enable the linking of billing, trouble ticket, operational support, business support, marketing, financial, provisioning and demographic data sources.
"SPATIALnet/Broadband is an advanced software product that allows an end-to-end management of HFC and Fiber networks," said Bill Scheffler, Director of Broadband Services for SPATIALinfo. "As our networks have become more complex their design and management has become increasingly difficult and costly. Being able to design and manage all of our networks (Fiber, Coax and Inside Plant) in one seamless platform resolves many of these problems and reduces the costs associated with these functions".
