SPATIALinfo Integrates SPATIALnet/Water with ESRI's ArcHydro model
(Englewood, Colorado - March 7, 2005) — SPATIALinfo, a specialist supplier of network management solutions and data integration for utility
(water, wastewater, gas and electric), telephone and broadband companies, today announced the latest release of its Water software offering with full
support of ESRI's ArcHydro model. The fully integrated solution incorporates both the SPATIALnet/Water and ArcHydro networks in a single system,
integrated with CAD and GIS in an open relational database.
This newest release the adds the ability model and manage surface water resources in addition to the piped (water and wastewater) resources.
The implementation included modeling all of the ArcHydro classes including Drainage, Hydrography, Network, Channel and Time Series.
A unique feature of the system is SPATIALinfo's Job Management System which provides the ability to engineer designs and make correctional
changes directly into the same database used for operations, without overwriting as-built (production) records until the actual network
modifications are complete. This both eliminates the double-handling of data between engineering and operations, and ensures that operations
users always have access to accurate and current data about the network and surface water resources.
The system's comprehensive physical network model is matched by its sophisticated integration tools. Users can export the surface water resources
contained in the ArcHydro model, directly to an ArcGIS Geodatabase. The asset resources can also be sent to the Asset Management systems.
