SPATIALinfo completes successful GIS pilot for Exelon Infrastructure Services subsidiary.

(Denver, Colorado, February 9, 2001) – SPATIALinfo, a leading developer of geo-spatial information technology solutions, today announced that it had successfully completed on time and on budget, all aspects of an enterprise GIS pilot solution for OSP Consultants Inc. of Sterling, VA, a subsidiary of Exelon Infrastructure Services. The project involved implementing SPATIALinfo's SPATIALnet™, SDM™ and SPATIALweb™ products, integrated with AutoCAD 2000® and Autodesk MapGuide® as client solutions, and Microsoft SQL Server® as the relational database.

"OSP Consultants was looking for a very flexible and open system which we could use on various types of customer work," says Mr. Jamie Wile, OSP Consultants' Manager of CAD/GIS Operations. "We performed a great deal of research into available GIS technology before deciding that the SPATIALinfo solution was the type of system we wished to test and develop, since it offered the most features and the most flexible platform we had seen. We worked closely with SPATIALinfo through product familiarization, project design, product configuration, implementation, and training, and SPATIALinfo continued to assist throughout the pilot period."

"The pilot solution met all our requirements and specifications, and I have found no other company as dedicated to providing a product that is functional and fits the needs of their clients. On every occasion SPATIALinfo was equal to the task. Because of the way SPATIALinfo has structured its software we can very easily deliver data to a customer without having to worry about bits of proprietary information that might get left in some other system. Everything we put into the system comes directly out of the database no matter which format we want to deliver in, or which application we want to interact with. Exelon Infrastructure Services has been positioned to be more competitive in the markets we are pursuing, and the project has been a huge success," says Mr Wile.

According to Wes Clain, US Vice President of Business Development for SPATIALinfo, "OSP's needs and directions are very typical of today's industry - everyone wants a system where you can change as the business dictates, not as a software vendor dictates. SPATIALinfo's approach to AM/FM/GIS is to enable the best component software on the market to do a job of work, without having to re-learn new software, or drastically change business processes. OSP wanted to keep using its AutoCAD and Microsoft SQL Server investment, and to leverage that investment through the web, and we can do the same for customers wanting to use Microstation® or Oracle, or combinations of these. OSP's choice of SPATIALinfo's technology underscores the data access and application integration power of the SPATIALnet™, SDM and SPATIALweb™ platforms.

The need to seamlessly support an enterprise repository such as SQL Server or Oracle, as well as other legacy formats, represents reality for most organizations today. We are pleased that our technology can serve their needs now and into the future and that OSP will flexibly achieve their business goals with our solution."

SPATIALnet™ is a comprehensive AM/FM/GIS application for capturing, editing and displaying Telecommunications and Utility inside and outside plant networks, modeled and stored in a relational database. SPATIALnet™ can integrate with a wide range of other systems, for superior enterprise access to spatial data from all reaches of the organization. SPATIALnet™ presently uses the AutoCAD 2000® client from Autodesk for graphics manipulation and display, and can be readily integrated with other client applications, such as Bentley's Microstation. Database support currently includes Oracle, and Microsoft® SQL Server.
