SpatialWEB™ is the ideal solution for putting network intelligence on the desktop of every member of an organization using standard web browsers like Internet Explorer — from marketing and business support specialists, to engineers and field technicians. SpatialWEB is so easy to use that most users can make use of its powerful features almost immediately with little or no training required.
SpatialWEB targets three main areas in your business:
- Business and Residential Sales and Marketing
- Fiber Splicers, Designers, Field Technicians and Construction Crews
- Network Operations Support
ADDRESS MANAGEMENT
A key business component of every telecommunications company is the ability to find and research address information quickly. SpatialWEB has a sophisticated address management feature, designed to answer common questions such as:
- Is this address serviceable?
- How is this address connected to the network?
- Why is this address having service problems?
- Is there a common network component affecting multiple addresses?
SpatialWEB effectively utilizes SPATIALinfo’s ADDRESSmanager™ — integrating billing system data, engineering addresses and business intelligence data into a single source of addressing information that can be displayed on maps, queried and analyzed. Subscriber information including high-speed data, video and voice services are also clearly indicated on the map; you can always see at a glance who is and who is not a customer and what services they have. Nightly refreshes of this data from the billing system ensure that your users are always viewing the most up-to-date subscriber information.
SERVICEABILITY
SpatialWEB includes a simple to use Serviceability Tool that can answer the question, “Can I provide service to this address?” extremely quickly. This tool is built from the ground up to help customer service representatives answer serviceability questions on the phone quickly while the customer is on hold. Animated maps and graphical overlays show if there are any issues with the proposed installation. The system also easily finds addresses that are not in the billing system, such as commercial units.
A sophisticated address parsing engine handles the imperfect address information commonly found in billing systems and hand typed address data, ensuring that addresses can always be found. Even if the address can’t be found in the billing system, spatialWEB will search the road and parcel networks to find the correct location.
For bulk processing of serviceability data, our Proximity to Plant Tool can analyze the serviceability of entire regions in your network footprint. The results display on the network maps, which are powerful visualization tools for
- Planning in-person sales calls by finding high concentrations of serviceable business customers
- Identifying potentially profitable new plant extensions by finding high concentrations of businesses just outside of the range
NETWORK MAPS
SpatialWEB provides a powerful mapping engine that displays seamless maps and data analysis overlays in a matter of seconds — providing fast access to the data stored in your Oracle spatial database. It is easy to customize views for different groups in your organization and to maintain your existing mapping standards. Render fiber, coaxial, inside plant and network schematic diagrams in real time, in a high-quality mapping format, in conjunction with your address, land base and legacy CAD data.
SpatialWEB supports aerial and satellite photos as well as the ability to render the status of active plant items to the map in real time. The system provides links to Google Maps™ for all objects in the database!
SEARCHING
Searching in spatialWEB uses the powerful MetaSearch Tool, which searches your entire spatial database to find any object quickly. Addresses, fiber, coaxial cable, inside plant and circuits — you can quickly find any network asset you own with spatialWEB.
FIBER VIEWING, TRACING, REPORTING
SPATIALinfo has been providing fiber optic network design software to the telecommunications industry for many years, and the strength of its spatialNET™ product is available over the web within the spatialWEB product. Fiber splicers, field technicians, network planners and inside plant managers will all find tools to help them manage and maintain their network.
Core fiber features of the spatialWEB product include:
- Detailed views of physical fiber cable routing
- End-to-end fiber tracing from node to patch panel
- Detailed fiber usage and ownership information – from cables to individual fibers and WDM channels
- Detailed and easy-to-read fiber splice reports
- OTDR tracing for locating network faults on the maps
- Inside plant connection tracing
COAXIAL CABLE VIEWING, TRACING, REPORTING
SpatialWEB provides a powerful set of tools for analyzing your coaxial network data, whether the details are drafted in our spatialNET Coaxial Design Software or in another third party coaxial drafting package. SpatialWEB clears the network cloud that previously existed between nodes and the devices inside the subscriber’s house.
SpatialWEB puts coaxial network topology in the hands of all users by providing connectivity from the node, through all active and passive devices, down to the taps, addresses and individual modems inside each customer’s house. Being able to view and trace your coaxial network in this manner over a standard web browser allows us to provide the following advanced functionality:
- Trace upstream and downstream within your coaxial network
- Find all affected addresses and customers fed from any piece of plant anywhere in the network
- Find common points-of-failure in the coaxial plant by using a list of affected plant, customers or MAC IDs known to be offline or performing poorly
- Identify potential node splits by finding network elements with large numbers of heavy data users
- Monitor network health by using a history of network statistics
- Determine node, buss and feeding active information for all addresses in your system to accurately update your billing records
REDLINING AND MARKUP
No web-based GIS tool would be complete without redlining and markup tools and spatialWEB is no exception. It is easy and convenient to mark-up maps with text, symbols, regions and notes. You can even mark-up fiber splice cases from the field.
